Female Ventures
— Community & Event Marketing —
Marketing Manager · Delft / The Hague Team August 2025 – July 2026
Female Ventures is a community that connects, supports and empowers women in their professional and entrepreneurial journeys.
As Marketing Manager for the Female Ventures Delft / The Hague team, I supported the promotion and communication of the chapter’s events throughout the 2025–2026 season. My role focused on turning events into engaging stories across social media and community channels — helping the right people discover the events, understand why they were relevant to them, and feel encouraged to join.
Alongside ongoing event promotion, I also developed the campaign concept and calendar for Made by Her & Together, an International Women’s Day initiative created in collaboration with My Lima Lima.
The challenge —
Female Ventures organises regular community events around networking, professional development, entrepreneurship, wellbeing and women’s empowerment. The challenge was not simply to announce an event, but to create enough relevance and anticipation for people to take action. Each event had a different topic, audience and atmosphere. The communication therefore needed to translate an event concept into content that felt:
- relevant to the community
- approachable and human
- clear about the value of joining
- consistent with the Female Ventures identity
- suitable for both social media and community communication
At the same time, the chapter wanted to strengthen engagement beyond individual events and build a stronger sense of community throughout the year.
My role
As Marketing Manager, I worked across event promotion, social media communication and community engagement. My responsibilities included:
- Event communication:
Translating event concepts and themes into clear promotional messages, developing communication angles and key messages for different events, creating promotional content for social media and community channels, building awareness before events and maintaining engagement around them - Social media
Planning and creating event-related content, writing captions and calls to action, adapting messages to different audiences and stages of the event journey, supporting consistent communication across the chapter’s social channels - Community communication
Promoting events through relevant community networks and channels, making event information easy to understand and share, connecting event topics with the interests and needs of the Female Ventures community - Concept development
Developing the concept for the Made by Her & Together International Women’s Day initiative, collaborating with My Lima Lima to bring the concept to life, Developing the communication story around the initiative and its purpose
From Event Announcement to Community Invitation
Rather than treating every event as a standalone announcement, I approached event communication as a small customer journey:
01 — Create awareness: Introduce the event and its topic in a way that immediately communicates why it matters.
02 — Build relevance: Connect the event theme with situations, questions or aspirations that women in the community could recognise themselves in.
03 — Create anticipation: Use stories, speaker information, themes and event details to give people a sense of what they could expect.
04 — Encourage participation: Make the practical information clear and use direct calls to action to reduce the friction between seeing the event and registering.
05 — Strengthen the community: Position the event not only as something to attend, but as an opportunity to meet people, exchange experiences and become part of the community.
Made by Her & Together
One of the projects I worked on beyond regular event promotion was the concept for Made by Her & Together, developed around International Women’s Day.
The idea was to create an event that celebrated women not only through talks and networking, but also through the things women create, build and bring into the world.
I developed the concept together with City Director – Kristin Unger and My Lima Lima, creating a format that combined a maker’s market, community gathering and networking experience.
The concept gave women entrepreneurs and makers an opportunity to showcase their work while creating a more informal environment for the wider Female Ventures community to meet, discover new businesses and connect with one another.
My contribution covered the concept development and marketing communication, from shaping the idea and its story to translating it into promotional content and community communication.
Building visibility. Growing the community.
- LinkedIn followers:
Grew the LinkedIn community from around 280 to more than 10,00 followers. - Community subscribers:
The subscriber community grew to more than 1,000 by May 2026. - Event attendance:
+50%
Supported stronger event participation through consistent event promotion, social media communication and community outreach.
These results were not about promoting one campaign. They reflected a year of consistent communication around events, community stories and reasons to participate.
